Luncheon Lectures

Saturday   TIME:  10:30 am to 12:30 pm

The Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library continues its series of luncheon lectures at the Old Lyme Inn on December 8 and December 15 from 10:30 am Ė 12:30 pm with guest speaker and opera expert James Kuslan. The lecture is free and the lunch is optional. Mr. Kuslan will discuss the variety of Verdiís female characters in Un Ballo in Maschera and Aida to be performed by the Metropolitan Opera this season. The luncheon programs immediately precede the Metropolitanís Live in HD broadcasts of the operas at 12:55 pm at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook. Participants will enjoy the lecture accompanied by a fixed price lunch with ample time to attend the afternoon matinee at the Kate. Funding provided by the Bring Our Music Back Foundation.
The Old Lyme Inn is graciously hosting our event with a menu of assorted sandwiches, a side dish and a beverage for $15 per person. To reserve your seat and order your choice of sandwich, please call the OLPGN Library at 860-434-1684 and ask for Katie or Stephanie. The deadline to register and place your order for Un Ballo is December 4. The deadline to register and order for Aida is December 11. Please make checks payable to the Library. No refunds after deadlines.
