Jason Anick Quartet concert and workshop
TIME: 7:00 pm
Jason Anick has become the world standard for gypsy jazz violin. He's travelled the planet as Grammy-winning John Jorgenson's violinist, and is now taking his own turn at the top. While keeping one foot firmly in the Hot Club of France tradition, Jason's also striding well into the 21st century with a quartet that simply cooks. Since Stephane Grapelli, there's been no one like Jason, and since they're both revolutionaries, Jason has no problem throwing in some mandolin and electric mandolin into the mix. The workshop, free to the public, will not only work on the Hot Club of France style of violin, but also the gypsy fiddling roots of that music. Call 203-668-3735 for information. Ice cream after every show!
