Education/Lectures
Monday TIME: 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Alicia L. Pena, LCSW, will discuss children and the loss of their pet companion on Monday, December 10 at 6:30 p.m. The loss of a pet is often a child’s first experience with death. Children ask questions. Brief answers that are to the point are good enough to satisfy the child’s questions and curiosity; the goal is to leave the door open for further dialogue. This presentation will give parents and caregivers a “How To” guide in navigating children’s questions about loss and death.
Alicia Pena is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker with many years experience working with children and families of diverse composition. Her Person-Centered therapeutic approach focuses on the individual’s history. She is a psychotherapist in private practice in Waterford, CT.
