The Connecticut College Department of Music presents “Masterpieces of the Romantic and Modern Eras,” a concert featuring chamber performances by music faculty and guest performers. The program explores the rich musical time period of the late 19th and early 20th centuries with Tchaikovsky’s “Souvenir de Florence” for string sextet, Debussy’s “Danses Sacrée et Profane” for harp and string quartet, Messiaen’s song cycle “Poèmes pour Mi” for soprano and piano, and Revueltas’s “Homenaje a Federico García Lorca,” which was written for eleven performers on the occasion of Lorca’s death.
