The Ninth Annual “Penguin Plunge” to support the Warm Center will be held on Thursday, January 1st 2014. The plunge will commence at 12:00 pm sharp at The Andrea on Misquamicut Beach, located at 89 Atlantic Ave, Westerly RI. Registration begins at 10:30 am; this event is sponsored by Webster Bank.

This event will include hot soup, T-Shirts for all registered participants, and include prizes for the top fundraisers. Costumes are welcomed for the event as well as forming donation teams, water shoes are advised.

Registration for the event can be done by visiting www.warmcenter.org, by calling Joy at 401-596-9276, or by showing up the day of the event at 10:30am.

The WARM Center is a 19 bed emergency shelter and soup kitchen serving all of southern Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut. They provide every guest that walks through the doors with a warm bed, and hot meal. Open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, the Warm Center offers a safe, stable and alcohol/drug free environment for each resident.

Zumba Gold will begin an 8-week session Jan. 6. The class meets from 3 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. The fee is $32 for residents and $35.50 for non-residents.
The 8-week PiYo class will begin Jan. 6 as well. The class meets from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. on Tuesdays. The fee is $24 for residents and $26.50 for non-residents.
Line Dancing will begin an 8-week session Jan. 7. The class meets 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays. The fee is $24 for residents and $26.50 for non residents. PACE begins a 9-week session Jan. 8, meeting 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursdays. The fee is $16 for residents and $18non- residents.
