The Old Lyme-Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library will hold a Secret Agent Training workshop for children in Grades K-5 on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 4:15-5:15PM. Build your own top-secret disguise, practice your aim at our launching station, navigate a laser field, whip up your own invisible ink for secret messages, and bone up on your cryptology skills as you rotate through our stations. Check out books that will help you learn about spy gear, famous spies in history, and more! Registration is required and all materials will be provided. Edible Books Festival seeking participants
The three Friends of Libraries groups in Groton will sponsor the 9th annual Edible Books Festival on Sunday, March 29. The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Groton Public Library. Participants will create and share dishes based on a favorite book.
Families, individuals, book club members are invited to submit an entry to one of the three participating libraries by March 20. An edible book needs to have an book connection, be in good taste and taste good for this free family event. For ideas, check out www.books2eat.com.
The Edible Books Festival is part of the International Edible Books Festival. The public is invited to the free, family event. After the entries are admired, the titles are will be revealed. A book bag raffle will take place after all of the entries are eaten.
