New England Science & Sailing (NESS) will host a community open house at its Stonington Borough campus on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from noon until 3:00 pm in honor of Earth Day.
All are welcome to come meet the staff, tour the waterfront facilities, and learn about NESS's year-round and summer programs. Visitors can enjoy fun activities and crafts for kids geared toward environmental stewardship and enhancing awareness of our great ocean resource, Fishers Island Sound. Children are welcome to explore the creatures in one of NESS's many touch tanks, get their face painted, and check out the science lab, NESS's fleet of boats for ocean-related adventure education, and learn about the NESS 's new programs, including new powerboating classes for ages 10 and up.
